Dante DeAngelis founded a web hosting and ecommerce company in 1995 which is the year he also became a domainer.
In 1998, Dante founded an IT publication primarily focused on the Sun Microsystems product range, which led to his company being the first Application Service Provider for Sun. These days many IT sales teams white label the publications that Dante’s company produces, which has expanded to include new technologies like Bitcoin.
In early 2011 Dante discovered Bitcoin: a peer-to- peer ‘digital cash’ invented in late 2009. Since early 2014, he has co-organized the “Bitcoin of South Florida” weekly meetup group. Dante tracks the Bitcoin space regularly with a particular interest in digital assets on the blockchain.
Digital assets on the blockchain hold the promise of vast possibilities and use-cases, including loyalty programs like Skymiles. A production example is the Uniregistry deployed TOPCOIN. Additional use cases include digital tickets, membership certificates, stock certificates, or even the virtual currency used inside of a gaming platform.
These assets can be transferred peer-to- peer using just a cell phone or via any website because they do not reside in a centralized database, but on a decentralized ledger. They cannot be counterfeited.
Seeing this as a digital asset like domains Dante secured a stake while sharing this information openly with his friends in the domain industry since 2014 when only a few thousand assets names had been registered, that number is now approaching 50,000.
Dante has been an enthusiastic promoter of enhancements to the platform that are of special value to domain owners – the current proposal would make it possible to exact match those assets with a domain name.
You need to know about what’s happening in Bitcoin. Digital assets on the blockchain continue to look like a new domain-name- like opportunity where an exact match can compliment a domain the same way a Twitter account can.
There’s a lot of hype in the Bitcoin space – Dante is here to give you the lowdown.

Founded in 1997, Trellian was an early pioneer in the development of domain name portfolio management tools. Initially, these tools were designed to save time, reduce costs, and improve the performance of Trellian’s large owned and operated portfolio.
Then in 2008, David used his extensive domaining experience and insights to convert these portfolio management tools into a suite of products and services under the Above.com brand name. Today, Above.com offers domain investors a wide range of powerful, free tools and services via its Monetization AutoPilot TM platform, its Registrar, and its Marketplace.
Soon after Above.com was launched in 2009, David was instrumental in launching the Trellian Direct Search Network, which pioneered the concept and technology that enabled premium advertisers to bid directly on domain traffic. This proprietary technology, together with a strong focus on quality, has helped Above.com’s AutoPilot clients get much higher RPMs for their domain traffic than by relying solely on parking.
David continues to be actively involved in helping top domain name investors leverage Above.com’s features and benefits to improve their bottom line. He is also driving Trellian’s growth through the formation of strategic partnerships and the launching of new business ventures. David has a Bachelor’s degree in Business (Marketing, Management, Accounting and Law) from Monash University, Australia. He works out of Trellian’s Melbourne, Australia office.
